So I started playing my spriest for first real time since MoP, I got to 110 and okayish gear (862) I love how single target feels but I struggle a lot to do any real useful damage on AoE.
I am unsure how to properly dps in most AoE situations, like say your in a dungeon and tank pulls like 6-7+ things, I never know if I just dot 1 and mind flay or try and dot a few? Its saddening to see most classes just absolutely crush AoE and yet I cant do anything productive damage wise. The same holds up when its a lot of smaller stuff that dies relatively fast, cant afford to dot multiple ones and even dotting 1 and flaying it seems like very low damage -_-
I have checked out some guides but I don't trust a lot of guides I read, can anyone give me some tips on what you do when it comes to AoE situations?

The only other option besides the three I list above is Driven to Madness, as this helps to decrease the time between Voidform, the primary benefit being that you get to cast Void Eruption more. Leveling a Shadow Priest. And it's a fucking mess. Full heirlooms, 13 years of playing WoW and this is by the far the shittiest thing I've ever played. The Discipline and Shadow spells and abilities have been removed for the Holy specification, making the DPS output significantly lower than in previous expansions. Shadow Priest PvE Talent Build.
